Mental Health Awareness 2018
This is the image for the news article titled Mental Health Awareness 2018On October 17th, Windham High School hosted a public event to address and educated our community on Mental Health Awareness.

During the event, we had accredited and certified experts provide information on how to recognize the signs in mental health and also how to get the conversation started with the ones we love.

Here are the presenters we were able to welcome to our school.

John Broderick
John Broderick, a former New Hampshire Supreme Court chief justice, has addressed more than 200 groups around New England over the past two years. He wants people to be as familiar with the signs of mental illness as they are with the signs of physical illnesses such as heart attacks or strokes.

Holly Fenn
Holly Fenn started her journey in 2009, when her 14 year-old son, Dalton, died by suicide. Reach 1 Teach 1 Love 1 was founded by Holly and Sabrina Terrell, another mother of suicide loss, to advocate for suicide and mental health awareness and prevention. It is the mission of the foundation to teach youth the signs of mental illness, equip them with coping skills, the ability to develop resiliency, and give them resources when help is needed.

Amerorette O'Brien
Amorette O'Brien is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who owns a practice in Windham, NH. She specializes in working with adolescents (ages 10 and up) who struggle with anxiety and/or anger.
