The Visual Arts Department of Windham School District (WSD) is proud to announce that 91 pieces of student artwork were chosen to be a part of a multiple NH State Representative building roadshow that will start in February and go throughout the spring.  Artwork from each of Windham’s schools were chosen to be represented.

The first location will be in the Department of Education, (101 Pleasant St., Concord,NH) from February 13th - April 10th.  Six of the WSD pieces chosen will have the honor of being hung outside the office of the Commissioner of Education, Frank Edelblut. This is the first time this opportunity has been presented. The showcase is open to the public during business hours at 101 Pleasant Street, Concord, NH.  The artwork will then be moved to the Legislative Building, (33 N State St, Concord, NH) in April for six additional weeks.

“This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase and celebrate the effort and talents of our students,” explains Jen Proulx , Art Teacher for Golden Brook School. “We hope that the viewers enjoy the show and the creative process that went into each piece.”

“The opportunity for Windham School District to display student artwork at the Department of Education and the Legislative Building provides us, as a district, the opportunity to showcase the elite talent our students possess in the fundamentals of art form,” said Susan Veilleux, Fine Arts Director, Windham School District. “We are proud to continue to see our program thrive in alignment with the Common Core Art Standards.

The closing reception will be held at the Department of Education on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at 4:30 pm, hosted by Marcia McCaffrey, Arts Education Consultant, Office of Academic and Professional Learning.  This reception is to honor the students and educators of the artists.
